4. Shotgun On The Ground

In Iowa, almost exactly the same thing happened to a hunter named William Rancourt. When one of the hunters left a shotgun full of loaded shotguns on the ground, he was hunting with a few friends. A hound stepped on the gun and unloaded a ball of bird pellets onto Lancourt’s back.

Fortunately, there is a distance between the hunter and the weapon. The shot did not cause more damage than when he was close. Rancourt survived the incident and was treated for injuries in the hospital.

Likewise, never leave a loaded weapon in a location where the dog or anyone involved in the matter may step on it and accidentally shoot.

5. Shot In The Butt

A New Zealand man was hunting with a friend while sitting in the back seat of a car next to a 0.22 bolt action rifle. Everyone in the group believed that the rifle was not loaded, but when the man’s dog jumped into the car, the puppy accidentally hit the trigger and fired.

The bullet passed through the seat and hit the man on the left hip. Despite his extreme pain, he had to be airlifted to the hospital by helicopter and survived.

Sometimes in a collective situation, it may be difficult to track who has unloaded the gun, and people may be confused. It is important to be responsible for your guns, and to conduct two or even triple inspections frequently to ensure that you do not accidentally fire weapons and harm others.

6. Shot In The Boat

8. Only One Hand To Pet With

Sometimes, when the dog is around, even his hands are not a safe place to load a gun.

A man named Rene in France is hunting with his three dogs, two of which are chasing deer. The third dog was young and new to hunt. Instead of chasing the deer, he stayed behind.

The puppy jumped on his man at some point and pulled the trigger of the shotgun. The explosion blew up part of the man’s hand and he had to be amputated in the hospital.

The man does not hold the dog accountable. He admitted that he should have been relieved. Now he can raise three dogs with only one hand.
